Proof Krugerrands are minted in limited quantities every year in South Africa bearing the bust of Paul Kruger on the one side and the Springbok on the other side. These coins maintain a higher premium because of their lesser mintage. During the minting process, the actual stamping of the coins is done twice which creates an almost embossed look.
