"Glory, glory, Man United, Glory, glory, Man United, Glory, glory, Man United, And the reds go marching on, on, on..."
Since 1983, the die-hard Red Devil supporters have chanted this pride swelling melody in honour of their legendary team,
Manchester United.
Today, with a fan base of 333 million supporters around the world including 17 million fans on Facebook, Manchester United Football Club is considered the most successful team in British history. The team was formed in 1878 as Newton Heath LYR Football Club by the Carriage and Wagon department of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway depot at Newton Heath.
It was only on the 24th of April 1902 that the club's name was changed to "Manchester United" to mark the beginning of their journey to greatness. And greatness was surely achieved when in July 2011, the club was named number one in Forbes magazine's annual ranking of the world's 50 most valuable sports teams, valued at $1.86 billion and they scooped up the record of the most Premier League Championship titles ever won by a single team.
Manchester United have also been fortunate enough to call Old Trafford, the infamous stadium based in the Trafford borough of Greater Manchester, their home ground since 1910.
Old Trafford, nicknamed The Theatre of Dreams by Bobby Charlton, has space for 75,957 spectators making it the stadium with the second-largest capacity of any English football stadium after Wembley Stadium, the third-largest of any stadium in the United Kingdom, and the eleventh-largest stadium in Europe.
